CSR Generation Instructions for Cisco Unified Mobility Server

Cisco Unified Mobility offers a set of mobility-related features that allow users to interact with Unified Communications applications no matter where they may be, or which device they are using. Whether the device you are using is a home office phone, a dual-mode Cisco Jabber on iPhone, Android client over a Wi-Fi connection, or a mobile phone from another cellular provider, you can still access Unified Communications features and have the call be anchored in the enterprise.

For example, you can answer a call directed to your enterprise number from any of your configured phones and then transfer the call to your mobile phone, allowing you to continue an in-progress conversation as you are leaving the office.

CSR Generation

  1. When you are on the Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage Admin Portal, Select SSL Certificate Management and press Generate New Certificate.
  2. Next, you must enter the required information in the text boxes as listed below:
    • Server Name: This is the qualified domain name used to communicate with your server externally.
    • Department Name: This is the name of the department that will be using the CSR.
    • Company Name: Type in the name that has legally registered with the organization.
    • City: Type in the city where the organization is based.
    • State: Type in the state where your organization is based.
    • Country Code: This is the two-letter code used to identify the country in which your organization is based.
For Example IN in case of India
    • Password: You must use a password to make changes to your Keystore (jks file) later. Make sure to remember that your password needs to be at least six characters long.
  3. Now, you will prompt to download your Keystore file. You can label this anything you want, make sure there is a .keystore at the end.
  4. You will also be prompted to download and save your CSR. However, if you are not prompted to do this, you should go to SSL Certificate Management and Select Retrieve CSR. Be sure to note that you must select the keystone file you made, type in the newly created password, and select Submit. This CSR is typically saved as a .csr or .txt file.
  5. Next, copy and paste the entire CSR into the order form located within DigiCert.
TIP: DigiCert will ask your server type, and be sure to click Java.
  6. Lastly, you can install your SSL after you receive your SSL Certificate from your CA.

We hope this article helped you with this easy process. If you are unable to use these instructions, Acmetek recommends that you contact either the vendor of your software or the hosting organization that supports it.
